A Romance with Food Cookbook brings to you the bold cuisine of Mariposa Latin Inspired Grill. The majestic restaurant is my fourth, marking my evolution as a chef and restaurateur. After two decades of nurturing my three Italian restaurants and serving millions of guests, the time felt right to spread my wings. 

I settled on the name Mariposa because it captured the feminine energy and spirit of transformation. I imagined my new creation as a powerful juxtaposition against the bold, masculine terrain of the Arizona high desert. And from there, I concluded that Latin-inspired “soul food” would be a natural fit.

This collection of recipes is unique because it’s a cooking style intertwined with storytelling and visual descriptions, so you feel the soul of the food much as I do. I don’t complicate the techniques or use obscure tools or ingredients. You can easily make these recipes using your own home chef tools, oven, and backyard grill. The cookbook is organized as a menu, so you can easily plan and prepare an evening dinner party or lunch on the terrace.
